THE BIG GONE – The XX Factor of Los Angeles…

Artist: The Big Gone
Members: Claire Woolner / Nick Sena / Danny Echevarria / Will Geer
Track: ‘Until Tomorrow’ – from brand new EP ‘And How She Gave Me Life’ …
In their own words: “Some people like to rock, some people like to roll. We are The Big Gone. We play Dress Rock.”
How Was it for me: ‘Until Tomorrow’ was the first track I heard from the new EP of this L.A. quartet and I fell in love immediately. A vulnerable, intriguing pop pearl carried by the male/female duet vocals of Claire Woolner & Nick Sena and the wonderfully shining guitar lines. It made me think instantly of that fragile sound created by British band The xx. The same sonic beauty, also present in ‘Worst Job‘, another slice of pop excellence on the EP. But there’s much more than The xx factor. Guitars burn in ‘Waste Time’, 60s glamour pop duo Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood spring to mind when I hear ‘Waiting On My Man‘ and the more uptempo ‘Sitting/Shaking‘ sparkles vividly. Many colors and rich sounds to discover !…
