Sunday Soul – Sam Cooke live at the Harlem Square

Only one of the most important single recordings that I have ever listened to (987 times to date).
Sam’s studio recordings were top notch but this live album, recorded at the Harlem Square Club in 1963, captures Sam at his fiery finest. Not only did he manage to sing with a raw passion that was not present in his recorded singles, but he had the crowd under his spell with every shout and intro. Amazing intensity and mandatory listening.
