It’s New Years Day! Your waking up just a little slower than yesterday, maybe it’s cold and snowy outside or maybe it’s just a quick drive to the Beach but you have to head out to work. Whatever it is , a little bit of Pep will jump start your day. A little bit of some doo wop , a little bit of all those classic girl group sounds and here you go. I think it’s easy to forget that in order to do this kind of music, you have to have the right voice and the rest of the band has to mesh, harmonies and rhythm. All that and a little more is accomplished in just these two songs. It’s happy , full of innocence , full of hope and sunshine. What else could you ask for on the 1st day of the year. I’m looking forward to their Debut Album that comes out 2-11-14. Get ready to sing and dance.
Hi our name is….
And our sound might be best described as….
50s pop with an update.
Karys Rhea – lead vocals, percussion
Morgan Lynch – backup vocals, percussion
Ilana Webber – backup vocals, percussion
Teddy Williams – bass, backup vocals
David Origlieri – guitar, backup vocals
Ashley Hurt – caretaker
We are originally from…..
All over! …more specifically, planet earth.
The first time we met was…..
Through an internet dating site (and a small child’s only wish).
We knew we were going to be a Band when………
Karys realized she couldn’t play guitar, loop her drums, and sing multiple back-up vocals all at the same time.
Before starting the band we were employed as…….
We are all still employed. At the same jobs. Let’s not talk about it.
The first song we wrote was…….
“My Baby And Me” was the first official PEP song. Karys was bored practicing monogamous drum rudiments and began humming a 50s-esque style vocal melody…
…being a rebel without a cause.
What we are currently listening to….
Morgan- Too much Kate Bush
Karys- Breakup songs
Teddy- Anything from ‘swinging London’ era to my dog barking at me.”
David– Canterbury Scene out the wazoo
Ilana- The new Beyonce album. Duh.
For fun we like to…..
…do yoga, heal our ailing bodies, damage our ailing bodies, repeat…
The one thing we want you to remember while your listening to us……
We were on Vice’s Worst 50 Albums of 2013 list, and our album hadn’t even come out yet… (february 11th suckas!!)
