Record of the Day…Blue Eyes by Teenagers

What’s in the water down there in Fayetteville, Arkansas? Ten High, The Holy Snakes, Pagiins, and now Teenagers. It’s practically a “scene”. Just four hours or so from music mecca – Memphis, Fayetteville sounds like it would be a good detour stop on any Tennessee road trip.

Teenagers released their EP Wheezin’ the Juice in May and to be honest I could’ve picked any of the 5 songs to feature here but I went with Blue Eyes, because it is 2:31 of gleaming power pop from days gone by. Teenagers expertly blend 70s new wave and power pop with slacker rockers like Weezer or Pavement, and it’s so damn catchy.

Can’t wait to hear more.

Domestic now, but spent early to late 80s playing drums in a hair metal band in Toronto. Since then I've lost the hair and have found new ways to scratch the rock and roll itch.
