Record of the Day…Black & White by The Stops

The Stops are a wicked 5-piece punk outfit out of Portland, Oregon playing music that’s definitely in my wheelhouse.

Black & White, the lead track from their new record, sounds like a fusion of Social Distortion and X-Ray Spex, and other songs on their latest release channel old-school 80s melodic punk, along with contemporaries like White Lung. But kick me if they don’t even reach back to the early 80s hard rock of Girlschool.

It’s pretty simple, this rocks!

Their LP – The Nameless Faces, is now available on Bandcamp and vinyl from our friends at DIRT CULT RECORDS and Sabotage Records (Germany) later this year.

Lizzie — Lead Vocals
Ruby — Lead Guitar, Vox
Rita — Rhythm Guitar, Vox
Cissie — Bass
Fukuko — Drums

Domestic now, but spent early to late 80s playing drums in a hair metal band in Toronto. Since then I've lost the hair and have found new ways to scratch the rock and roll itch.
