Record of the Day: Sheer Power by Plush

Plush is a four-piece out of San Francisco that put out their first full length, Pine, in 2015. The band finds itself somewhere between garage and shoegaze, with intense reverb and overcharged guitars. In April, Plush put out their newest EP, Please, on which you can find “Sheer Power.” The song is dreamy and dazed, and then that guitar overload comes in breaking all the rules. In an interview with Fader, Karli Roberts-Helm explained “Sheer Power” saying, “I’ve always wanted to write a song about my sexuality, more so sex specifically and feeling empowered through the act. As a woman, I think that’s extremely important.”
