When I listen to KC Allen, I know I am listening to the present day rock ‘n’ roll. I have no doubt that he is expressing himself through his music as intensely as possible. The 1st time I ever listened to KC Allen , I felt that , here is someone who gets what is possible , he rips the rules up much like Jay Retard did and he is quick to mention that he is influenced a little by Jay but there is more to his songs than that. It’s modern day punk , fast, out of control , with something on his mind that needs to be said. If I had my own Record Label, I would sign him as fast as I could to a long term deal, this kid is the real deal….

I am: KC Allen

And my sound might be best described as: Trying to rip off jay reatard

from beyond the grave, or bad.

I am originally from: Orlando

some that have had an influence on my sound: Lost Sounds, Sonic Youth and goa trance

what do you think about the state of rock ‘n’ roll in 2015: I think

its blowin up, Gary Wrong has a fuckin guitar pedal!

what kind of challenges are you facing as a younger musician and

how are you overcoming those obstacles:

I feel that I’m not being taken

seriously enough by a lot of people. I think the only way to be seen

differently is to put more into my music and work harder. And a fake id helps.

Can you tell us a little on how the new album came to be, ideas

behind it, the process of writing lyrics and music and your plans

for 2015:

The songs are about just feeling

like shit about yourself and everything around you. I get my ideas from

experiences and just things that are on my mind. I had written most of my songs

while I was recording with another band and couldn’t record myself. I also

decided to use a drum machine this time instead of playing them myself

because I felt it gave it a more intense sound, and I could play the songs

faster that way.

What are you currently listening to:

as I write this I’m listening to Let it Be

by the Replacements. I’ve also been listening to Burning Itch, Brian Eno,

Birthday Party and Big Star

A few albums you could never part with: The Birthday Party Live 1981-82,

Swing Kids 7″, Jay Reatard Singles 06-07 and

Jens Lekman When I Said I Wanted To Be Your Dog

For fun I like to

: knock shit over

my hopes for 2015: Id like tour a lot, try and do the whole east coast and

also play some miami shows. Ill be doing a lot of recordings too and

trying to get some more physical releases.

listen to this , today…….
