October 2, 1978 – Neil Young 35 Years Ago …

comes a time

On October 2, 1978 Neil Young released his 9th album, titled ‘Comes A Time’.
A return to the country/folk rock sound of Harvest (1972)

* “A restrained and modest set of love songs that traces a long affair from first light to final regrets, ‘Comes a Time’ is an personal, sensitive singer/songwriter’s offering” (Rolling Stone)
* It peaked at #7 in the Billboard 200
* ‘Gone with the Wind’ was on the boards for a while as title for the LP
* Track ‘Human Highway’ was written several years prior to its release, and originally presented to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
* Much of the album features harmony vocals ( and co-lead on ‘Motorcycle Mama’) from the late Nicolette Larson (see pic here). Her own version of the track ‘Lotta Love’ released shortly after the album became a Top 10 hit single
