My 2016 Phish Wish List

As 2016 quickly approaches, there are a few major concerts on my to-do list:

  1. See Janet Jackson and Kacey Musgraves in February.
  2. See Carly Rae Jepson in March.
  3. See as many Phish shows as humanly possible without losing my job over it during the summer of 2016.

I had originally hoped to go to the Madison Square Garden Phish run over New Year’s at the end of December, but a few major life events like a $1400 car bill and a $900 tooth bill prevented that trip from becoming a reality. I also didn’t have anyone to go with and taking the train from MSG to Brooklyn by myself (to my cousin’s house – PLEASE NOTE I DO NOT LIVE IN BROOKLYN, I LIVE IN PITTSBURGH! I wrote this post pre-coffee and failed to mention that part!) in the wee hours of the morning 4 nights in a row didn’t seem like the greatest idea.

So, my summer this year will be focused on Phish and being PAGE SIDE RAGE SIDE and I absolutely cannot wait to see my new favorite band live. Here are the top three songs I am hoping to catch. I can’t wait to see which cities they hit this year and I can’t wait to move my couch tour to the real life tour. Did I mention I can’t wait?

Meatstick

This is a song that has grown on me, especially over the past month or so. I have been listening to the 2016 Magnaball shows on repeat lately, and Meatstick is a jam that brings me joy every single time.

Cities

I know this is a Talking Heads cover…but the Phish versions are so damn good and all I wanna do is rage to this one live during the summer of 2016! What better way to combine my love and devotion for both of these amazing bands?

Tweezer

How many times have you listened to the Magnaball Tweezer? I am pretty sure I have listened to it about 546 times in the past month if I take a guess. Who DOESN’T want a good Tweezer? I am dying to be in the middle of a crowd of Phish heads when those first chords hit our ears. I can only imagine the energy and pure happiness. Please take me to summer 2016 shows, now, please. Can we fast forward?

I’m a noob, so please comment and tell me some other songs I need to hear! I have listened to most of the 2015 sets but I am always looking for older shows to check out. Can’t wait to make new Phish friends this summer. I will see you there!
