Live Aid – 13 July 1985 – mega music event to raise funds for the ongoing Ethiopian famine – 2 stadium concerts were held simultaneously in London and Philadelphia – big acts: Queen, Led Zep, Bowie, Dylan, Baez, Black Sabbath, U2, Paul McCartney and many more – the most thrilling, overwhelming performance for me came from white bluesman George Thorogood and black bluesman Albert Collins – they joined forces on stage at the JFK open-air stadium fory an explosive, dynamite rendition of the 1960 Elmore James song ‘Madison Blues’…
