Sad news have spread today. Dick Dodd, the singer and the drummer of the Standells dies at the age of 68.

I am sure you are all familiar with the band The Standells, formed in 1960s and are well known with their hits “Dirty Water” and “Sometimes Good Guys Don’t Wear White”. Dodd, who was drummer with the band The Bel-Airs, joined The Standells in 1964. After recording with the band and appearing in the movie “Riot on a Sunset Strip”, in 1968 he left to continue his solo career. Starting from late ’90s, he appeared in several concerts and festivals with the reunited Standells.

According to Larry Tamblyn’s message on band’s page, Dodd has passed away Friday evening. Rest in peace Dick Dodd. I now leave you with the number “Dirty Water” and a great footage of the band, Dick Dodd singing and playing the drums.
