surfinburrusethis

This is a Band that I found via Bandcamp and after sending them a message they agreed to answer some questions. His voice has that Joey kinda vibe , great take on some awesome classics . If I sought these guys out, that tells you right there that I love this…Enough from me….play the music!!

Meet The Band

Hi our name is….
The Surfin Burritos

And our sound might be best described as….Burrisound…or maybe a mix of rock and roll, surf, punk, garage and sixties pop.

We are…..
Daniel, vocals and bass
Gabriel, guitar and vocals
Kike, guitars and vocals
Miquel, Drums and smiles

We are originally from…..

Barcelona, Spain

Who are some that have an influence on your sound??

We could drop names of obscure artists, it seems to be sooo cool, but let’s make it simple: Early Beatles, Ramones, Eddie Cochran, Beach Boys, Dick Dale…and a lot of lesser known artists that did the same things but had less success.

The first time we met was…..in the year 2007. We did not know each other. Daniel put an add on the internet looking for people interested on surf, rock and roll, powerpop, beat music. We agreed by mail to do a meeting in a rehearsal cab. We chose four songs. It sounded ok at first attempt.

We knew we were going to be a Band when………we finished our first meeting. We knew it was a band at first sight!

Before starting the band we were employed as…….We are still employed! We are in this band because we love music and play live, we even enjoy a lot rehearsing…you know, inside jokes, jams, sharing vinyl’s, etc.. We have very different jobs…therapist, clown, amp and guitar tech, car parts factory manager…

Our craziest gig ever was….At the Spooky Prom, a party based on Psychobilly, B Horror movies, zombie disguises, all that stuff.
We were there with our skinny ties, watching the bands with names like Motorzombies, and the public all dressed up in a Psichobilly, oi, dark, teddies, zombie and horror movie costumes…dancing pogo style…we thought that this was our end as a band and as a living beings. What a big surprise when we started playing, they all went crazy!, they all really liked stuff like Do You Love Me (Contours), Roll Over Beethoven ( Berry), Come on everybody (Cochran), etz. Is fair to say that we played those tunes in a ramonish way…

The first song we wrote was…….We started writing our songs this year. The first song we played in front of an audience is “The Devil’s Newsletter”. Hey! They liked it! It happened two weeks ago. We are preparing a batch of 12 songs and we will start recording them pretty soon. It’s great to be a party band, it’s fun to play covers, but we want to make a new step…

It’s about……A teenage memory. You know that going with her will bring you a lot of trouble, but you don’t care because you also know that you will get a lot of fun.

What tunes are you currently jamming to…recently we play a lot of Dr. Feelgood, Ramones, Hi Risers, Muck and The Mires, Kaisers…

What are some of the 1st songs you remember listening to that made you say, that’s what I want to do

Rockaway beach, by The Ramones, Rock this town, By The Stray Cats, In the City by The Jam…

When you are touring and have some time off , where could we find you..,at work, we play live very often, but we can’t say that we are on tour the best part of our time.

The one thing we want you to remember while your listening to us…These guys are really having fun playing these songs and they turned a gig into a party!
