Cool Fuzz Pop out of Nashville, Meet, Sherbert

sherbert1

Sherbert does a really good job of combining some of the old with the new and still comes out with making you think there is something to be said for the good vibes of well crafted and well written fuzz pop. Reminds me a little of The Primitives , which to me is saying something. Good stuff…Listen , follow/ buy….support. Love this Band!! Let’s put them on a short list of new bands to place on heavy rotation.

Let’s Meet….Sherbert

Hi our name is….

Sherbert

And our sound might be best described as….

Fuzz pop.

We are….

I’m Michelle. I play guitar and sing. Cody plays the drums, Wes plays the bass, and Sean also plays guitar and records all of our songs.

We are originally from…..

Nashville, TN

The first time we met was…..

Sean and I met in high school in Cincinnati. We used to start bands solely to become opening acts for shows we wanted to see but weren’t old enough to get into. We moved to Nashville after high school in 2007. Shortly after, Cody and I met working together at a record store. Sean met Wes while engineering a record for Wes’s former band.

We knew we were going to be a Band when………

Last year, my best friend booked my first show without my consent, as a way to force me to play in front of people. I needed a backing band so I wouldn’t embarrass myself. Enter, the Sherberteers.

Before starting the band we were employed as…….

Record store clerks. And Sean is a fancy recording engineer at the Butcher Shop Studio here in Nashville.

Our craziest gig ever was….

Opening for Paul Collins in a chicken wing restaurant in Alabama.

The first song we wrote was…….

Problem Child.

It’s about……

Last April, I jumped off the deck of a bar and broke both of my ankles. I got so bored on bed rest that I decided to try to write a song. It’s basically about feeling like a loser. With good reason.

What we are currently listening to….

Todd Rundgren – “Something/Anything?”

A few albums we could never part with….

The Replacements – Tim
Big Star – Third

Liz Phair – Exile on Guyville

Guided by Voices – Alien Lanes

For fun we like to…..

Spend all of my money on records and iced tea. Watch the Netflix documentary section in it’s entirety. Tell bad jokes on twitter.

The one thing we want you to remember while your listening to us…..

You can sing the melody to “Cheeseburger in Paradise” to most of my songs.

Expect….

A new 7 inch called “Heavy Metal & GBV” and a tour with the Paul Collins Beat this summer!
