I remember listening to The Drunk Poets in the early to mid 90’s and they had a Replacements/Goo Goo Dolls kinda vibe. One thing I noticed was the strong song writing.
Even though punk/garage is my “go to” music, I have always had a soft spot for singer-songwriters in the vein of Cat Stevens, Van Morrison and Dylan to name a few.
Chris Watkins (of The Drunk Poets) recently contacted us and sent us some of his music for us to have a listen to. As the years have gone on, Chris has kept on making music and his most recent album Winter Birds displays his still strong songwriting ability on this 21 track album. The details and imagery on these acoustic songs are striking.
Here is a little more about Chris and The Drunk Poets (bio from his You-tube channel)
