Chris Watkins and The Drunk Poets Release New Album, ‘Lights All Askew’

chris watkinsLights All Askew is the album just released by Chris Watkins and The Drunk Poets. Influenced by that of Lou Reed and Talking Heads, this album has that engaging and intellectual aspect and has this appeal much like Shawn Mullins as he narrates the stories he tells in the music. His voice runs through you, a driving force, and his voice blocks out your own. I like the song “Dark Old Houses”, its alternative indie vibe and gives me the urge to settle in and let the music take over.

Living in Alaska and influencing the music scene there at the young age of sixteen, Chris Watkins formed his band The Drunk Poets. With varying members over the years, he continues to write and record his music there. You can purchase Lights All Askew here through iTunes.
