Couple of weeks ago, in Halloween, I went to see the Allah-Las in Uebel & Gefährlich, a music club in Hamburg. First of all, I need to tell you that the venue is upstairs in Flakturm IV in Heiligengeistfeld (area in St Pauli); one of the eight flak towers in Germany. And, the name of the club means Evil & Dangerous. Perfect place to be in the Halloween. Spooky.
The support band from Berlin, called the Snøffeltøffs were on stage already when we arrived. The club was packed by then, you could hardly walk. The garage rock/pop trio completed their set and soon after Allah-Las took the stage. They were in the mood for Halloween, all were dressed up unlike the audience. I had my bats tiara on, though!
We got to hear plenty of new tunes from their third album, released last September, “Calico Review” which is clearly a more psychedelic and experimental sound that the band put out than before. As the night progressed, the band also played their classics which made the crowd got more heated up. We had a good dance. Here are some photos from that excellent night!
