“Beyond The 7-11” by American Lips

  • by Matt Dunn

American Lips is a 2/3 from Montreal and 1/3 from Los Angeles band (Amerinadian perhaps?). The group features Sebastien Grainger from Death from Above 1979 on drums. Their debut album Kiss The Void drops June 16th on the band’s own label Ancient Fashion Records. “Beyond The 7-11” is a really catchy tribute to the beloved convenience store. In my youth I stayed up every Sunday night until 2 am to watch MTV’s classic show 120 Minutes and this video certainly feels like something that would have fit in perfectly. The band has only released two singles so far: “Beyond The 7-11” and “Heat Wave” but I suspect we will be hearing a lot more about this band in the near future.
